"ombudsman" - should we keep our name or change it?
Following Lord Hunt's recent review of the Financial Ombudsman Service – and his recommendation that we should change our name to something more accessible – we ran a survey on our website to see what people thought about the word "ombudsman".
- 79% of people who took part in the survey emailed us on keep-name@financial-ombudsman.org.uk to say we should continue calling ourselves "ombudsman".
- 21% of people emailed change-name@financial-ombudsman.org.uk to say we should drop the name "ombudsman" and call ourselves something else.
